Priest: Gathered as the people of God, with humble confidence we lift up our prayers….

  1. That we may continue to reach out in prayer and welcome to the many who are hungry for the gift of a  community, even if they don’t realize it, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For success in our battle against the coronavirus, for efficient distribution of vaccines and for the stamina and safety of doctors and all medical care personnel, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. That those who, like Job, find life a drudgery may find cause for gratitude, hope and confidence, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For the wisdom to imitate Jesus and make time for quiet and prayer, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. That our faith, worship, study and service some day generate as much interest and excitement as the Super Bowl, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For the legal protection of the unborn and an abiding respect for each and every person regardless of race, religion, nationality or even attitude, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For all who have gone before us and those who grieve them, in particular…

…for whom we offer this Mass. Let us pray to the Lord….

Priest: Heavenly Father, author of Sacred Scripture, help us receive what you have revealed in your Holy Word. Give us a greater hunger to daily seek you in the scriptures that we may better know you and your Son. May your Holy Spirit open us to be transformed by Your Holy Word throughout this year of the Bible. In Christ’s name we pray….
