Intercessions – September 5, 2021

Priest: May we more and more heed the voices of those in need even as we lift our own voices in prayer….

  1. Inspired by the healings of Jesus and the determination of those who participated in the Paralympic Games in Tokyo, we pray for the deaf, for those with speech impediments and for all who are handicapped in any way. Let us pray to the Lord….
  1. That we take pride in our work and for the blessings of jobs for those who are without them, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For good sense and vigilance in our battle to end the spread of the coronavirus, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. That many will step forward and participate in our RCIA and Alpha programs, that all our schools and certainly our Catholic schools be safe and effective education centers, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For those traveling this holiday weekend, for unified families, and for a safe, successful school year, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. With a glimmer of hope from the news this week, we continue to pray for the legal protection of the unborn. Let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For all who have gone before us and those who grieve them, in particular…

Priest: Heavenly Father, author of Sacred Scripture, help us receive what you have revealed in your Holy Word. Give us a greater hunger to daily seek you in the scriptures that we may better know you and your Son. May your Holy Spirit open us to be transformed by Your Holy Word throughout this year of the Bible. In Christ’s name we pray….
