Intercessions – October 24, 2021

Priest:  Our gifts and blessings are cause for rejoicing. Yet our needs are many and so we lift up our prayers in humble confidence….

  1. For all who are handicapped and likewise for the many who sacrifice their own comforts to assist them, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. That we may recognize our own blindness and better see who we are and embrace our sublime mission as followers of Christ, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For good sense, patience and great success soon in our battle to subdue the coronavirus, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. That we may have the courage and faith to speak out for justice, peace and respect even others try to stifle us, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For Chris, Todd and all the deacons of the diocese who are on convocation this weekend and for an increase in religious vocations, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. That even in the face of deep divisions, violence, suspicion and fear, we may believe in and work for peace, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For all who have gone before us and those who grieve them, in particular…

…for whom we offer this Mass. Let us pray to the Lord….

Priest: Heavenly Father, author of Sacred Scripture, help us receive what you have revealed in your Holy Word. Give us a greater hunger to daily seek you in the scriptures that we may better know you and your Son. May your Holy Spirit open us to be transformed by Your Holy Word throughout this year of the Bible. In Christ’s name we pray….
