Intercessions, Third Sunday of Advent – December 12, 2021

Priest:  Watching…, waiting…, preparing with hope and joy for the great feast of Christmas, we lift up our prayers in humble confidence….

  1. For a spirit of repentance and an eager openness to the gifts and grace of the Sacrament of Reconciliation, let us pray to the Lord….                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              
  1. That we heed the directives of John the Baptist to be honest, to share generously and to stand humbly before the Lord and other people, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For all those battling the coronavirus, for medical care workers and for success soon in our efforts to subdue the virus, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. That those struggling with depression or loneliness find new joy in life through the love and power of God and our own respect and care, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. On this feast of our Lady of Guadalupe, we pray for a renewed respect for all peoples, and certainly the inhabitants of the Americas, even with all our differences and disparities. We pray for or let us pray to the Lord….
  1. That those serving in the military and law enforcement do so in safety and integrity, let us pray to the Lord….
  1. For all who have gone before us and those who grieve them, in particular…
